Daphne is a spelling machine!

Daphne decided she wanted to make a card for daddy while he is at work.

"Dad, I miss you"

I did not help her spell this out at ALL. Ok, so I am a little surprised by this. Can 4 year olds spell like this??? A couple months ago she spelled out the word snow, but she spelled it sno. And she spelled out the word snack, but spelled it snak. And now she is writing out "I miss you"!

She brought this up to me just a moment ago and I nearly cried! How sweet is this!? Oh, and Daphne goes by Daph now.

Tiny Squids

How is it that a 4-year-old picky eater will eat tiny squids?


For my moms birthday, we took her to the Fish Grotto. Pretty much all seafood, and it was SO good. We ordered calamari for an appetizer, and it came with tiny squids.


This actually isn't the first time she's eaten tiny squids from calamari.


I myself was a little hesitant to chomp down on them. But Daphne didn't seem to mind at all!

Mini Update

So, my parents are visiting us this week and staying at our house. An update was requested, rightfully so, and not to disappoint- here's a little update:

Last month John and his partner upgraded their office. If looks fantastic and everybody loves it!

So far, I've taken my parents around Vancouver, antiquing, out to lunch for pizza, around downtown Portland,and tonight we went to Voo Doo doughnuts.

Laughing All The Way To The Bank

HA! Just got word that I was able to get ALL of our security deposit back from our previous landlords. AGAIN. Landlords are so stupid.

Bullet Points. Again.

Bullet points. I love the concept.

• I have zero motivation to start on my 6 page paper for Human Development. It's due Friday.
• There is a guy sitting across the foyer from me who looks really familiar. But I can't figure out who he is.
• I have not gone to the gym since last Thursday :( And with my procrastination on said 6 page paper, I will not be going again until the paper is done. So, probably not until Friday.
• Daphne is feeling better and back in school today. She had a bad cold with a fever that started last Saturday. She missed two days of school (which is also why I'm behind on my paper and going to the gym), but is now back on her feet.
• We seem to have a million and one projects going on simultaneously at our house these days. Our garage looks like a furniture graveyard, or someplace where rejected furniture comes to die. All bits and pieces scattered throughout. I do see an end in site. Most of it is our dining room set that we are refurbishing. *Hopefully* it can by done this weekend and in our dining room by Monday. Hopefully.
• John's law firm is expanding like crazy! I do not envy his work load right now. Poor guy. I do appreciate all the hard work he does though. I'm such a lucky gal.
• Love love love our new cars. The Rav is SO comfortable. And I *love* the sparkly red color.
