And now for an update!
I was wanting to wait until I had some more official news before I made an update about it on the blog... but I think it's as official as it's gonna get. I am going back into the workforce. In the beginning of January I started looking for jobs in the childcare field. I went on three interviews, and got job offers on all three of them. I decided to take a job at a place called Creative Children's Learning Centers as a Head Teacher in the toddler room. This center is pretty sweet, and you can check out their website HERE. This was the third interview I got, and almost took a job with the second interview I had. It was a really good thing that I held out, because the most amazing job was right around the corner. I am very excited, the location is downtown Portland, and the center's classrooms look over the Williamette River and downtown Portland. It's only 10 miles away from home, and Daphne WILL be coming with me. She will be starting out in the preschool prep class, and moving into official preschool when she turns 3.
I am so excited that we get to go to the same center together. I am also so excited that Daphne gets to have such an awesome experience of being in preschool. She needs to get out of the house so bad. I can tell she is so bored at home with no one to play with. And luckily, I get her tuition for half off since I will be working there. I am also very excited and fortunate to be working with 2 year olds. I think that's my favorite age to teach.
I haven't started working yet though. I just have to wait for the Center Director to get approval from the employment administration... and then I have to wait for a couple more enrollments so they will have enough to open another classroom.
In the mean time, I will contine to enjoy our current lackidasical lifestyle until I have to go back to work. John is studying for the bar right now, so he's not working at the Prosecutor's office right now. We basically get up around 8, eat breakfast, go to the gym all together, come home and shower, eat lunch, John studies, and then Daphne and I either clean or go run errands, we eat dinner together, bathe Daphne, put her to bed, and then John and I hang out toghether. That is what our lives are currently. Pretty interesting huh?
In some other news, we've been getting snow here occassionally. Which is really cool. I enjoy it. Until it starts to stick to the street, and then all the tv channels talk about the weather all morning like it's some kind of emergency. It only bugs me because I can't watch the Today show or anything while working out.
Daphne is getting to be such a genious. She's starting to draw stick figures- which John taught her. It's so cute. She'll draw three stick figures and call them "Daddy, Mommy, Daphne". She recognizes the alphabet, but can't draw the letters yet. She is getting so big, and smart, and opinionated. If we suggest something, she has a better idea. Or if we'd like her to do something, she doesn't want to do it. Pretty interesting, and challenging.
And here are some recent pictures.
I decided to try sponge curlers... first attempt didn't turn out like I pictured. Maybe I'll try again when all her hair grows in and it's longer/thicker.

She picked out these shirts. She likes picking out her clothes now. Sometimes it works, sometimes it works in a
different way.

Daphne has inherited the "John Sleeping Position". John crosses his legs up in the air like this when he sleeps. Daphne has never seen John sleep like this... but somehow picked it up.

Here's the stick figures she draws.

This is one where you can see the chalk board a little better, but a little bit of a less excited face from Daphne since it took so long for me to get it to turn out that way.

Daphne throwing darts at our dartboard that John's dad and step mom got us for Christmas. This is probably the coolest thing we got for Christmas... like ever. It's so awesome. Whenever we're bored, we just play a game of darts. But whenever we do, Daphne wants to play too. So we take turns. Don't worry, she's throwing the rubber tipped ones. We use the metal tipped ones. And we're getting pretty dang good!

Kat LOVES us. She especially loves to come up and cuddle with us whenever we're lounging around. She just couldn't resist laying on John's back when he was studying. She has no boundries.

Daphne loves this Dora the Explorer bathrobe we got her for Christmas.
She wears it every day.

I came home from the gym one night and Daphne was sleeping ON TOP of John. So funny... and so like them.

What it looks like when we get snow here.

The end.
